Meet the Team!

Board of Directors

Kristen Petroff

Founder/President

Kristen is an accountant and cat lover currently living in Oregon. Kristen has always believed the underdog needs the most help and that no problem is solved with just a Band-Aid. You need to get to the core of the issue and resolve it, which is how FFCR was born. Kristen and her husband Jay are avid cat rescue people and have worked tirelessly with TNR Groups to fix feral cat colonies.

Ellie Richards

Secretary

Ellie is a Virtual Executive Assistant based in Iowa. She has spent the last 10 years taking care of local feral cats and fostering/adopting cats that have been deemed 'unadoptable' because they are too scared of humans and often get passed over for friendlier felines. She believes all cats need care and safe homes, whether that be indoors or outdoors which led her to join FFCR.

Louis Navarrete

Treasurer

Louis is an environmental designer trying to make the world a better place one room at a time. He and his husband have been rescuing kitties for at least the last 20 years and they love and adore each and every one that has graced their paths.

Dominic Yi

Director of Engineering

Dominic Yi is a software engineer with expertise in management and a proud cat dad to a rescued cat who quickly became part of his family. His experience caring for a rescue inspired a passion for supporting initiatives that improve the well-being of community cats. Based in the Chicago area, Dominic brings a diverse skill set to FFCR and is committed to advancing its mission through innovative solutions and sustainable impact for both feral and domestic cats.

And Now Our Amazing Volunteers

Maria Elisha Saba

Social Media Guru

Maria is driven by her love for animals and desire to make a difference. With a background in graphic design, Maria Saba channels her creativity into social media. Maria has always valued compassion and community and finds fulfillment in giving back and being part of a mission that ensures every cat gets the chance they deserve. At home, Maria shares her heart (and her lap) with her rescue cat, Ori.

Ehab Abdul Rahman

Mechanical Engineer

Ehab is a recent graduate in Mechanical Engineering and has a knack for designing prototypes and working on hands-on projects. Ehab is someone who's passionate about the discipline and was drawn by Furever's mission and wanted to help incorporate new designs for the better livelihood of stray cats. He is eager to help realize cool new ideas that can be further iterated on.

Evie Fox

Colony Researcher

Evie Fox is an animal lover that is driven by passion and giving back to the community. She has a pet snake named Venus, who she’s had since she was 2 months old. In her free time, she likes to go to community events, try new recipes, and eat at local bakeries. She has joined this mission in hopes of every cat getting a life of love and joy.

AdreAnna Sommer

Google Ads & Website Manager

AdreAnna Sommer joins us as our volunteer Google Ads & Website Manager. She’s got a soft spot for nonprofit work and loves using digital tools to help good causes grow. AdreAnna’s no stranger to community-focused work and is excited to bring that energy to our team. When she’s not tweaking ad copy or checking click-through rates, she’s probably being bossed around by her two foster cats, Purrl and Bucky.

Amr Hassan

Computer Engineer

Amr is a passionate computer engineer who believes that technology should serve both people and the planet. At FFCR, he sees the potential to turn this belief into action. With experience building scalable web applications and automating data collection, he’s equipped to help drive innovation in community cat care. From microchip-activated feeder technology to tools that support food distribution and outreach, Amr is ready to use his engineering mindset to support FFCR’s mission—helping cats live safer, healthier lives.

Jen Bettinger

Computer Engineer

Jen is a Computer Engineering graduate from the University of Illinois at Chicago making her way into the world of Software and Cloud Engineering. Like the rest of her team, she shares a love for cats and has a five-year-old best friend, Oscar. When she isn’t at home with her cat, she’s either at the gym, playing Volleyball with her friends, or at a live music event.

Hector Alvarado

Software Engineer

Hector is book worm, hiking enthusiast, and car lover. He has two dogs Scooby, an 11 year old Chihuahua, and Wendy an 8 year old Yorkshire Terrier Chihuahua mix. He also has Nimbus, a 5 year old Siamese cat whose sole existence is to sleep and bite the ankles of his unsuspecting victims. The local strays favorite spot to sleep is on top of his truck's bed cover. He has long since given up on the idea of having a clean truck since as soon as he cleans it new paw prints mysteriously appear.

Anmol Mishra

Software Engineer

Anmol is a Product Designer whose approach to design is rooted in sustainability, accessibility, and a deep respect for how people, and animals, move through the world. His early experiences rescuing strays with his mom (dogs, cats and a peacock) shaped his instinct to design with care and responsibility. That same lens now guides his work in creating thoughtful, inclusive digital experiences. Outside of work, Anmol enjoys biking around the DMV, hosting cozy dinners and game nights, and experimenting in the kitchen.

Anjana Asok

Software Engineer

Anjana is a software engineer who cares deeply about using technology for good. She was drawn to Furever Feline Cat Rescue’s mission of compassionate, eco-conscious care and loved the idea of combining smart tools with heart-led community work. With a background in engineering and a love for thoughtful problem-solving, she’s excited to support FFCR’s efforts—from improving colony care to helping pet owners stay connected with their cats. Outside of her volunteer work, Anjana enjoys exploring cozy cafés, hosting game nights with friends, and quietly observing the magic of cats just being themselves.
