Furever Feline Cat Rescue has a belief that cats should never be declawed so we are helping to promote
AMERICAN CATS (the movie)
What begins as a humorous exploration into our obsession with cats — from their early history of domestication to the eccentric world of cat influencers (such as the insta-famous Nala) — becomes an urgent call to action against the harmful practices of declawing in the US.
As only a few states have fully banned declawing, veterinarian Jennifer Conrad embarks on a crusade to stop the practice once and for all.
American Cats is hosted by Amy Hoggart (Full Frontal with Samantha Bee).
This documentary is funny, fascinating, and presents a compelling case against this inhumane billion-dollar industry.
Premiering at the Hot Docs Film Festival, the film drew attention from The Wall Street Journal, Deadline and POV Magazine.
With impact screenings, there is hope to bring awareness to local communities and fellow animal organizations on the destructive consequences of declawing and inspire others to take a call to action.
Bringing this film to the attention of local animal groups, organizations, pet owners and animal lovers is the goal and to push for better legislation across the US and Canada for the well being of cats.
The live-stream event will be on May 29th at 8:00PM Eastern/5:00PM Pacific! The film runs 88 minutes and follows with a post-screening discussion with lead subject Dr. Jennifer Conrad and moderated by Danielle Bays (Cat Protection & Policy, Humane World).
